With it being the first day of spring break for our kids, I am working from home today. This morning, the girls wanted to watch one of the videos they checked out from the library (we'll get them outside later today... I promise). When I turned on the TV, it was set on channel 24 - TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network), left over from the other night when I was blipping through channels and decided there wasn't anything worth watching.
My daughter Kate was sitting on the couch while I was setting up their DVD and seemed pretty intrigued with the preacher that was on. He actually had some good things to say (it was an Easter message). All the way through Kate had this quizzical look on her face. Finally, as the preacher built up to the end of his point, Kate looked over at me and asked, "Dad, why is that man yelling?"
What a great question... not only from a 6 1/2 year old, but also likely from a number of people in our culture, wondering why we Christians do the things we do in the way that we do them.
