I received an email update from World Vision today that included a link to a spot ABC's Good Morning America did around Christmas time.  They were highlighting World Vision's gift catalog program where families can purchase livestock and other supplies that go directly towards helping folks in at-risk areas to live a more sustainable life.  The video features an Africa family that was the recepient of a goat, and the American family that gave the goat.

As I watched this, I kept thinking about the myriad of people that had to have been touched by last June's LIVESTOCK event that Jill and Alex Hass hosted and led.  That event bought two whole farms worth of animals... it would be so cool to see the impact that is making.  Of course, the issues at hand are still so big, but those are some efforts to begin to make a dent in the problem and to bring hope and sustainability to those in need.
