31 questions to ask God

As part of our "Facing life's fears with faith" sermon series, this Sunday I am going to be preaching about facing the fear of financial ruin (somewhat timely subject...)   I'm doing quite a bit of reading this week, re-looking at the whole subject of money in the Bible and in the full scope of wisdom from Christian leaders.

Today I read a short book Randy Alcorn put out a few years ago, titled "The Treasure Principle".  The focus of this particular book is on how giving has always been the starting point for followers of Jesus to experience freedom and joy as it relates to money.   It's a good read, only about 100 pages (same pages too..)  I read it in just over an hour.

At the end of the book, Alcorn lays out 31 questions people can ask God about where they are at with money and giving.  I really appreciated that approach, since it puts the focus back on what we do with money as being a response to God, rather than some checklist of things we do to prove we're some super Christian.   I found a link to the list of 31 questions on Alcorn's website.   Here it is, if you'd like to check it out.
