I am in Boston this week for a really intriguing conference - the Center City Summit - a gathering of people who have an interest in making a difference in secular society for Jesus' sake. It's been a great time so far, both with the conference and from my overall experience in Beantown. I'm in an eclectic coffee shop called The Diesel Cafe, been here three times this week to just catch up on email, etc and it has always been packed out. Fun place to be. That was on top of my introduction to Boston on Saturday night when my host family took me and a friend down to Harvard Square. We had dinner at a quinessential Boston pub, walked around the square for awhile (including seeing a front seat view of Harvard), and then checked out the Harvard Coop bookstore. This was one of the most amazing stores I've ever been in: three huge floors (connected by a beautiful winding wooden staircase, and nearly every book that you could imagine (granted I didn't look at them all...
In any case, it's been a wonderful week. Dave Schmelzer, who I've mentioned a number of time in my blog, is the head guy for the conference. It's been quite thought provoking - stretching me to think of what it really looks like to be helpful to others (and I guess to myself) of connecting with Jesus in the day and age we live in. Dave just launced a blog/website recently that is connected with his new book. The blog is www.notreligious.org. Take a peek on some of the things people are discussing. It will certainly be interesting!!!
