Iowa Flood Relief Efforts

As most of you know, Iowa and other areas of the Midwest experience over-the-top record flooding earlier this month.  Cedar Rapids, the city we moved to Mankato from, was the hardest hit, with over 5000 homes flooded, let alone the hundreds of business and other organizations affected.

Thankfully, our sending church, the Vineyard Church of Cedar Rapids, was not damaged.  It has now become the "campsite" for an entourage of relief workers from Mercy Response.  Mercy Repsonse is a ministry of the Vineyard Churches USA, birthed in the days following Hurricane Katrina.  Basically, they help coordinate individuals and teams from around the country to come into an affected area and serve people in practical ways in Jesus' name.  For more on their ministry, check out their website:  www.mercyresponse.com

For further information on the work that the Vineyard Church of Cedar Rapids is doing, check out this page on their website:  http://www.crvineyard.org/floodefforts.kt
